It was the year 2016 when Tyler found himself in a peculiar position. His band Another Mistake had recently broken up, leaving him with nothing to spend his money on. That’s when he had an idea – why not start a record label?
Thus, the Life and Death Brigade was born.
All jokes aside, we started as a label to press music to vinyl and showcase bands that might not have been given a fair shot or be pressed to vinyl otherwise.
We press our records through a local record pressing plant less than 30 minutes from Louisville and prefer to keep as much production “in-house” (literally) as we possibly can.
Our label is more than just a business. It’s a passion project, a labor of love, and a platform to showcase talented artists who may not have been given a fair shot otherwise. Every penny spent goes right back into the label and goes towards supporting and releasing bands we represent and believe in.

Life and Death Brigade started 5 years ago, in 2016. Tyler’s band Another Mistake had recently broken up and he “no longer had anything to waste his money on” as he puts it, so why not?
We started as a label to press music to vinyl and showcase bands that might not have been given a fair shot or be pressed to vinyl otherwise.
